The M5 iPad Pro seems like another minor update.
I’m still on the 2020 iPad Pro with no real need to upgrade. That’s both cool and disappointing.
That said, here’s what I expect.
Power 💪
M4 → M5.
Expect this to be a typical chip update. Nothing crazy.
Money💰
It will be expensive.
iPad Pros currently go for (US prices btw):
$999 for 256 GB 11” iPad Pro
$1299 for 256 GB 12.9” iPad Pro
At least in the US, tariffs will make this worse. Maybe a $100 price bump?
Design 🎨
The design will be more or less the same.
There are some rumors that there will be a rotated Apple logo (landscape vs portrait). That’s really it.
Connectivity ⛓️💥
I expect the iPad Pro to have improved accessory support. Not really sure in what way though.
I say this because of iPadOS 26’s emphasis on laptop-ification of iPads.
Maybe better monitor support? Another USB-C port would be very cool (0 expectations for this).
Stretches 🔨
I’m stretching on these.
Stuff that may happen but haven’t been discussed by other rumors:
WiFi 7
Potentially more RAM
Xcode for iPads
Final Thoughts
Thanks for reading. Sorry for short post + break. Lots of moving changes with school + work + life.

PS—Shoutout to Concepts ⬇️
Concepts is an "unlimited canvas" note-taking app I've used for years (if you don't believe me, check my post history). I use it to take notes, brainstorm article ideas, and come up with startup ideas.
It's one of the few apps I highly recommend for every iPad user out there. And I genuinely believe this (again, check my post history if you wanna verify this claim).
Concepts has been kind enough to offer a free 30-day trial. And no, you don't have to enter your credit card info.
Show Concepts some love ❤️—they're amazing sponsors.
I just want to be able to run full VS Code on my iPad so I can use the same device for handheld tasks and laptop tasks.
If I knew in advance that I wouldn’t be able to make WhatsApp audio and video calls on my iPad I would’ve stuck to a MacBook 😞…. Any chance this will ever change…????
