Over the past year, I’ve tried to become an iPad minimalist.
Instead of using hundreds of different of apps for ultra-niche tasks, I’ve worked on simplifying my workflows to just a few.
Here are my top recs.
Todoist
Todoist is the best to-do list app on the market.
It has an amazing free plan for individual users. I have never felt pushed to upgrade to Pro.
It is incredibly powerful and intuitive, a rare combination these days.
Stoic
Stoic is a recent app in my iPad.
I came across it last week in the App Store, and I fell in love.
My favorite feature is the user interface. It is incredibly smooth and almost fun to use.
The free plan is decent. You have access to tons of features.
You do not get iCloud sync in the free plan, though some people may see that as a good thing.
I don’t mind. Thus, no other journaling app comes close.
Feyn
Feyn is the most underrated iPad app I’ve ever seen.
Compared to other behemoths, Feyn doesn’t appear to have a massive user base.
But, in my opinion, it is the best app for students/learners.
With Feyn, you can create handwritten flashcards on your iPad. This is better for initial understanding.
Then, you can practice these flashcards from your phone. Using popular active recall and spaced repetition technology, Feyn optimizes your learning for maximum efficiency.
Feyn has an incredibly simple interface. It is easy to understand and has everything you would need.
ChatGPT
Not everyone is fan of ChatGPT. Honestly, I love Claude more.
That said, ChatGPT’s iPadOS app is king. I don’t know any better gen AI app out there (please give me recs if you know any).
Voice mode is amazing and is honestly the main reason I love the ChatGPT app.
Notion
You already know enough about Notion.
Concepts
Concepts is my favorite studying app.
Many of my courses are either computer science or math courses. Lots of theory, not too much memorization.
Concepts, with its unlimited canvas, gives me the space I need to explore important ideas.
Concepts is also the sponsor of today's post. Don't worry though—I used Concepts long before they sponsored me.
Concepts has been kind enough to offer a free 30-day trial. And no, you don't have to enter your credit card info.
Final Thoughts
Excited for this new year. Prayers to those in LA.
Thanks for reading!
