A guy on Twitter found 3 potential iPads in the backend of Apple’s code.
Here’s what this could mean.
What Was Found
14 iPad identifiers were found.
8 indicated new iPads:
A16 11th gen iPad with WiFi
A16 11th gen iPad with cellular
A17 7th gen iPad mini with WiFi
A17 7th gen iPad mini with cellular
M5 11-inch iPad Pro with WiFi
M5 11-inch iPad Pro with cellular
M5 13-inch iPad Pro with WiFi
M5 13-inch iPad Pro with cellular
What This Means
This doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re coming out.
The other 6 iPad identifiers that were found were for scrapped iPads, like the nonexistent M3 iPad Pro.
But this info does mean that these models are possible.
iPad
An 11th gen iPad is definitely possible. I think it’ll come later this year.
The last base model iPad came out two years ago. It’s time for a new one.
An A16 chip makes sense too—keep in mind that the last iPad came out with an A14 chip.
But sadly, other than the chip, there aren’t any big things rumored. It’ll still probably be an awesome device though.
iPad Mini
We’re also due for a 7th gen iPad mini. Like massively due.
The last iPad mini was released in 2021.
For context, I started distance learning high school in 2021. I’m now entering my sophomore year of university.
Like with the base model iPad, not expecting anything crazy from here. Other than a chip update, nothing crazy has been rumored.
The only real thing of note might be a solution to the “jelly scrolling” effect many iPad mini users had.
iPad Pro
We just received an M4 iPad Pro and we’re already getting rumors about the M5. lol.
There haven’t been any big leaks about the M5 chip.
People weren’t even expecting the M4. The M5 is way out there.
Final Thoughts
Thanks for reading the post. Sorry for making it short—worked a ton this week and felt way too tired to write a full blown post.

Concepts
Concepts is an "unlimited canvas" note-taking app I've used for years (if you don't believe me, check my post history). I use it to take notes, brainstorm article ideas, and come up with startup ideas.
It's one of the few apps I highly recommend for every iPad user out there. And I genuinely believe this (again, check my post history if you wanna verify this claim).
Concepts has been kind enough to offer a free 30-day trial. And no, you don't have to enter your credit card info.
