Using AI is like supporting the Vikings. For a small subset of tasks, it’s insanely good. For everything else, it’s a word I can’t say.
There are some AI teams out there trying to build stuff that works. Here are 5 cool iPad apps I’ve seen.
Not going to include ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity since I’ve covered them before.
Bing
The Bing team at Microsoft did something crazy.
They took a meme of a search engine into a genuinely powerful tool. With AI, Bing has become an insanely good app.
I’m still using Safari. But Bing, in my eyes, has passed Chrome/Brave/etc as the next best browser.
Copilot
Yet another Microsoft app. They’ve been killing it lately.
To me, Copilot is the closest app to a real AI assistant. And for whatever reason, Copilot’s outputs are almost always better than what I get from ChatGPT.
Videoleap
I haven’t personally used Videoleap.
That said, it looks like one of the best AI-powered video apps out there. With over 134,000 reviews and a 4.6/5 star rating, it looks like it can actually get the job done.
Suno
Suno is another cool music generation app.
It is definitely in the early stages. It is built as an iPhone app, and does not fully fit iPad screens (think Instagram).
That said, the tech is pretty cool. Even if you hate the iPad experience, check it out on your iPhone.
It’s not going to make you any more productive by any means. Instead, it’s a fun app to play around with when you’re bored.
Otter
Otter is an AI tool that can actively save you time. That’s pretty rare, even now.
It’s essentially an AI note-taker for meetings on Zoom, Google Meets, Teams, etc. It also works for lectures and other audio recordings.
You can also chat with the transcript using AI instead of having to search through it manually.
Final Thoughts
AI is definitely powerful but also overhyped. These apps make the most of cutting-edge tech.
